Our Next Angel Flight Mission
When: Tuesday June 19, 2018
Who: Michael Evans age 34
Where: From San Diego, CA to Goodyear, AZ
Why: Michael needs a heart transplant. We will fly him home to Arizona after Michael consults with the heart specialists at UCSD Medical Center in San Diego.
Family’s Prayer Request:
I would love prayer. I go to church and read the Bible regularly. The Lord has kept me alive for 5 years with a heart that does not work. UCSD put the LVAD device in me July 2013. That is why I’m going to San Diego. I am on the heart transplant list there and in Tucson U of A hospital. UCSD is more likely to find a heart my size faster, so I plan to be transplanted at UCSD.
R4M Note: What’s an LVAD? The left ventricular assist device, LVAD or VAD, is a kind of mechanical heart pump. It’s placed inside a person’s chest, where it helps the heart pump oxygen-rich blood throughout the body. Unlike an artificial heart, the LVAD doesn’t replace the heart. It just helps it do its job. This can mean the difference between life and death for a person whose heart needs a rest after open-heart surgery or is too weak to effectively pump on its own or who is waiting for a heart transplant.
Our Ministry Prayer:
“Father God we lift up Michael and his family to you in believing prayer asking that you provide him with an acceptable heart for transplant. Envelope them in your comforting presence as they walk through this trial. Bless them with your peace knowing that you have them in the palms of your hands. Overwhelm them with your peace that surpasses all understanding and they place their trust in you. We ask this in the name of Jesus. Amen.”
